Located in the historic downtown, the Lindsay Farmers’ Market is one of the oldest markets in Ontario. It was established in 1859 and has continued to be successful ever since. True to its agricultural roots, the farmers’ market represents a great part of our culture and heritage. On Saturday mornings from May to the end of October, the local farms and farmers’ markets are loaded with fresh produce often sold directly from the grower. The market venue attracts gardeners with plants and flowers for sale, local craftspeople with their latest design in fabric or wool, and bakers with van loads of fresh breads, pastries and preserves. The Market can be found on Victoria Avenue between Kent and Peel Streets.
