This lock is 82.3km up the Trent-Severn Waterway System and can be found on chart 2022. It is 2.7m high. Lock 18, located in the Town of Hastings, is the last lock before entering Rice Lake. The lock itself has a nice park area with tables providing a great spot for lunch or an afternoon break. From Lock 18 in Hastings to Lock 19 in Peterborough, boaters have 60km of uninterrupted scenic water to explore and enjoy. Pleasure boating, sailing, water skiing, wakeboarding, wave running, swimming and fishing are perfect ways to pass the warm summer days on the waters around Hastings. The locks were completed in 1844 and the waterway became part of the famous, picturesque Trent-Severn passage. The Village of Hastings has a population of just over 1,200 and offers a quaint downtown with all the necessary shops and services. Hastings Village boasts a state-of-the-art marina situated on the south shore immediately above Lock 18. Located on over 1500 feet of manicured waterfront parkland, our marina boasts 64 slips catering to seasonal and transient boaters alike.
