This conservation area located north of Port Hope provides residents and visitors with a natural respite in which to walk, picnic and enjoy the natural environment. Various demonstration sites are designed to show landowners how to protect and enhance their properties through conservation techniques such as native flower and grass planting, slope and bank stabilization, woodlot plantings and use of indigenous plants in home landscaping projects. A covered picnic shelter is available for use by the public, community groups and schools for classes, workshops and social activities. Approximately two kilometres of meandering trails now exist around the old Molson Pond area and along the Ganaraska River as it flows off of the Oak Ridges Moraine. The conservation area is located at County Road 28 just north of Highway 401, next to the Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority’s offices.
