Highlands Cinema tucked into a house at the north edge of Kinmount offers five cinemas for first run films. Its 550 seats exceeds the local human population, but draws from all across Central Ontario’s cottage country during its summer season. The Museum is a testament to the heritage of film, with artifacts, manequins, pictures and stories extending way back to the earliest movies. Kinmount is right on the border between Peterborough and Haliburton Counties and has its own heritage to share, from the converted rail trail and train station to the Austin Sawmill, the Kinmount Gallery, Heritage Centre and Icelandic Monument.
