Experience Cobourg's magical heritage and Rice Lake views. One of the favourite Ontario biking trails, it takes you along the celebrated Greenbelt Route. (74 km) Highly recommended by the Toronto Bicycling Network (its a key Canada cycling trip), this spectacular tourism cycling route gives you a little bit of everything: a great ride, local culture, rolling hills and fabulous views. It will take you along memorable Ontario biking trails, including the new Greenbelt Route cycling trail. Enjoy incredible Rice Lake bike trails with spectacular vistas from wonderfully quiet roads. Discover Peter's Woods, featuring Ontario's sole-surviving Oak Ridges Moraine "old growth" forest. At Alderville First Nation, purchase aboriginal arts and crafts, or step into an authentic teepee. Fill up your bottles with spring water from the Harwood artesian well located at Memorial Park (5453 Front St.). Looking for a relaxed tourism cycling stay? Try MacKechnie House Bed and Breakfast or The Woodlawn Inn in Cobourg. Other favourite Northumberland cycling stops include Hillview Haven Estate in Baltimore, or Golden Beach Resort overlooking Rice Lake. Travelling from Toronto, Ottawa or Montreal? Try VIA Rail's Bike Train. It makes a stop in Cobourg. You can pick up the Ramble route from the train station down George Street, or try the shorter Cobourg waterfront trail.
